The DBCHS is a non-profit organization formed in 1972 to help

the many abandoned and unwanted domestic animals in Boyle County.

The Mission of the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is to promote

the humane treatment of companion animals through

sheltering, adoptions, community education, and spay/neuter programs.

Service Opportunities:

Volunteer at PetSmart:

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers on weekends to take shifts

at the PetSmart at Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville, KY.

The DBCHS brings animals there each week with the hopes that many will get adopted.

Help at the shelter during the week and on Saturdays:

You'll get a taste of every aspect of humane society operations,

helping the Saturday crew wait on visitors, answer the phone, keep the animals clean, and so much more.

Data entry:

Sounds boring, but it's so important!

We need help keeping up with all our records and updating our mailing list.

These tasks help us to raise money and save more lives.

And remember, you can always take breaks to visit the animals!
